 Milestones Projects Minimize

Centennial Academy is fortunate to have the opportunity to display the works of Richard and Michele Steckel. They are nationally known photographers and authors of The Milestones Project. Their pictures are featured near our main entrance. The authors of The Milestones Project visited our school and shared with us their journey, vision and work. The Milestones Project book is available for checkout through the Centennial Academy Library

The Milestones Project is a nonprofit initiative designed to help parents teach children to value and respect people who are different from themselves. Since its inception in 1998, the Project has taken more than 23,000 photographs of the world's children taking their first steps, celebrating their first birthdays, getting their first haircuts, and experiencing other milestones of childhood. The Milestones Project goal is to impress upon people that no matter where we live, what we wear, or how we look, we are more alike than different.
