 Meet Mrs. Dryer
About Mrs. Dryer
My name is Amy Dryer and this is my 15th year teaching at Centennial. This is my fourth year at second grade. I have also taught third through fifth grades. I received my Bachelor’s degree at the University of Northern Colorado and my Master’s degree from the University of Phoenix. I grew up in Littleton and graduated from Littleton schools. I am married and have two children ages 8 and 5. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, playing sports and traveling. I come from a family of teachers. Both Grandmas and my Mom were teachers. I saw how my Mom loved her students and loved teaching them and knew this was what I wanted my career to be.

Second Grade with Mrs. Dryer
Second grade academics cover the Littleton Public Schools curriculum throughout the year. Centennial has an intense focus on reading and writing for all of our students. Second grade continues to work on reading and comprehending fiction and non-fiction. We give continuous, helpful feedback in writing daily. Each grade level works with Everyday Math and Problem Solver which have shown great results. In science we cover weather, seasons, and fossils. Littleton history, pioneers, and map skills are covered in social studies. Expectations for every second grader include working to the best of their ability, respect for themselves and others, and taking responsibility for their own actions. Homework is sent home Monday through Thursday and is due back the next day.
