 Meet Mrs. Maley

As a native Coloradoan, I am extremely happy to be teaching in Littleton still close to my family. I graduated from UNC in Greeley, Colorado. Since 2002 I have been teaching at Centennial.    After teaching fourth grade my first year, I moved to join the second grade team.  I am married and both of our families live close around.  We have one daughter who keeps us laughing and on the run!  Golf and coffee-drinking are my two passions outside of school.

Second Grade with Mrs. Maley

Second grade academics cover the Littleton Public Schools curriculum throughout the year.  Centennial has an intense focus on reading and writing for all of our students.  Second grade continues to work on reading and comprehending fiction and non-fiction.  We give continuous, helpful feedback in writing daily.  Each grade level works with Everyday Math and Problem Solver which have shown great results.  In science we cover weather, seasons, and fossils.  Littleton history, pioneers, and map skills are covered in social studies.

Expectations for every second grader include working to the best of their ability, respect for themselves and others, and taking responsibility for their own actions.  Homework is sent home Monday through Thursday and is due back the next day.
