 About Mr. Dillard

Hello from Mark Dillard!

I have been teaching Physical Education at CentennialAcademy for 8 years. I am very active in many sports, especially triathlon. I finished an Ironman triathlon in Coeur d'AleneIdaho in 2004. This year I will be competing in the age group, short course triathlon World Championship in Oahu Hawaii in October.

I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Fort LewisCollege in Durango, Co. My graduate degree came from the University of Northern Colorado in Physical Education. I started my teaching career in the classroom as a 2nd and 3rd grade teacher. I have always loved sports and movement and gravitated towards my passion for physical education. I have coached youth wrestling, high school wrestling, youth soccer, and high school soccer as well.

Physical Education at Centennial

Each grade level has age appropriate Targets that should be met by the end of the year. These targets follow the Littleton Public Schools Physical Education Curriculum. Targets are taught and practiced in games and drills. Another emphasis in the physical education program is fitness. We work on all types of fitness. I make activities fun and interesting to help children learn the skills I teach. The games and activities promote incorporating all children, and non elimination. All children learn skills together with very little wait time, and all children participate.

I am also available to help with ideas and design workouts for children at home. The Physical Education program should be supplemented at home, whether it be sports or running around the back yard.

I also teach Rhythm Arts, Advanced Rhythm arts, and World Playground during the Cafe block of time.
